What on earth is colour Friday?
Back in 2021, a campaign by Holly Tucker was launched as an alternative to Black Friday - the colour version is to encourage local people to shop local and support their local high street businesses. Statistics prove that by spending £10 locally, it gives back £50 in recirculated money into the community. What's not to like about that! Living in Whitley Bay, we are really blessed to have so many independent shops, whole streets of them. Supporting local independents is becoming a way of life.
My studio is right in the heart of Whitley Bay, in the lofts at Space@ on Park View. It's a fantastic community of local businesses all supporting each other.

Over time I noticed that different digital environments encourage different patterns of concentration, and book of dead slot happened to be one example that caught my attention during that observation. The focus wasn't really on the game, but on how visual rhythm, movement, and timing subtly influenced the way I processed information. There were moments when every detail seemed easy to follow, while at other times my attention moved more freely between different elements on the screen. Paying attention to these small shifts helped me better understand how flexible concentration can be in digital spaces. It became an interesting reminder that design often shapes perception more than we initially realize.
